Building A Password Cracking Rig

I've been wanting to do this for a while now, and I finally got around to it- I'm currently in the process of building a password cracking rig! I had a couple of different options where chassis were concerned, and initially I wasn't sure if I wanted like a baker rack/open mounted kind of concept, or something contained. Ultimately I opted for an old junk NZXT full tower that I had laying around. I wanted something that could be sleek and relatively portable (although I don't really intend on deploying it anywhere outside of my home) if nothing more than for the sole reason of the novelty of just having a cool tool like this packaged up in a neat little box, as opposed to having everything messy and out in the open.

I began by removing all of the cages that were inside of the tower by using my dykes, my drill, and the power of friendship! ...Anyways.. After removing the hard drive and drive bay cages, I started to see the beginnings of my vision coming to life and now started to speculate on how I might be able to somehow fit these 6 GPUs inside this newly gutted tower.

As I removed much of the structural integrity of the chassis (oops..), I now needed something to support the crushing weight of depressi- I mean 6 GPUs that I would be fitting into my new toy. I went and got some angle iron, or aluminum I should say and began working out how I would be securing it to the chassis. After drilling holes into the aluminum, I then secured it to the foreground of the chassis with winged thumb screws and love. I then drilled more holes in the aluminum bar and secured the GPUs with a series of nuts and bolts and made sure they were nice and tight. I used another cut of the bar in the bottom, or background of the chassis to rest the foam feet of the PCIE riser adapters on top of.

Also Here's a Cat...

I was sitting in my chair, staring at my barebones, wall mounted test bench, a very ugly and small project I had done previously done (if you could even call it that). I said to myself, "Self, is it time? Should we finally build it?? AM I CRAZY FOR TALKING TO MYSELF- US??"

Yes and Yes...
